Human Resources Director

Summary

The Human Resources Director is a strategic leader who oversees the Human Resources operations and administration to ensure compliance to all regulations associated with State and Federal laws and maintains a tactical role in the day-to-day HR functions in the spirit of creating a robust workforce. The Director plays an integral role in promoting HR practices in line with maintaining an inclusive and equitable approach to the culture of the organization in addition to driving business efficiencies in line with the overall mission and vision of the organization.  This thought leader manages and provides guidance to Human Resources staff on the following HR functions: benefits administration and employee wellness programs, employee relations, performance management, compensation, recruitment, volunteers management, State and Federal reporting and disclosures, leadership, and training development. Develops Human Resources strategic plans that align with The Library’s Strategic Plan, Mission, and Vision. Develops organizational tactics to positively enhance The Library’s culture including driving a mindset of global and cultural effectiveness incorporating a diverse and inclusive environment for all employees and guests of the library system. The HR Director serves in a consultative capacity to staff, the Senior Management Team, the Personnel Committee, and Board of Trustees.

Responsible for departmental budget and fair compensation practices. Maintains confidentiality.


Public Services Assistant | William H. & Marion C. Alexander Family Library

Summary

Dauphin County Library System is seeking ongoing learner for a part-time Public Services Assistant at 200 W. 2nd St. Hummelstown. The Public Services Assistant provides exceptional customer service in person, on the phone and email. The successful Public Services Assistant uses computer software for circulation of materials and offers basic reference service.

Position may require occasional travel to Elizabethville and Johnson Memorial Libraries to fill open shifts as needed and agreed upon.
